Electronic Packaging
RCC has designed and analyzed electronic packages at each stage of assembly: chip, multi-chip module, circuit board, box and rack. We have defined or interpreted requirements, designed packaging, and analyzed systems for mechanical loads (static, sine/random vibrations and shock) and thermal environments in order to assure adequate design margins and reliability.
Railroad Wheel Design and Analysis
Railroad wheel design for freight, locomotive and passenger service along with failure analysis is a unique service provided by RCC. In addition, the Association of American Railroad’s Standard S-660 analysis for freight wheels and AAR Standard S-669 for locomotive wheels can be provided. (See the web page “About Us” for details.)
Metallurgical engineering services including the development of non-liner material properties, are combined with FEA analysis to conduct failure analyses of all types of mechanical components.
Fracture mechanics calculations using the NASA developed FLAGRO program are generally performed after the FEA has been completed. In addition FEA is used to compute the linear elastic stress intensity factor for 2-D and 3-D problems.
